As we prepare for the birthday of our country, we are also celebrating another birth-day here.
This little girl was born last Saturday and is ready to join in on the weekend festivities. Everyone is thrilled with her – especially her big sisters.
This little one turned 5 years old several days later and requested “ a dress” for her birthday. I had fun creating this for her…..complete with a little purse to match. She loved it.
We have a big 4th of July party here to celebrate our Independence so I have spent some time getting ready for the festivities.
New beanbags for the corn hole game….
and some bunting flags for decorating…..
While I was on the red, white and blue theme I sewed up some HSTs for a flag quilt that one of the grandsons casually mentioned that he would like for his college dorm bed this fall.
28 done….62 to go!!!
We will have houseguests for the next six days so I will take the time to wish all of those in the U.S.A. a wonderful and safe Independence Day.
Awwww. Nothing like a baby to complete the holiday. How many grands does that make for you Mary?

Congratulations - she's gorgeous! I'd love another grandbaby, but so far none on the horizon. Really need to get some banners and table runners made for next year's festivities. No time this year, in fact pretty much have to close up the sewing room for weekend guests (little ones) that will be sleeping in there. Have a wonderful 4th!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all on the new arrival! She is a cutie, just like the rest of your grands.
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with that little dress and matching purse! I haven't done any garment sewing in ages.
Don't you just love the 'subtle' requests for our quilts, it thrills my heart.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little girl! I know the family is thrilled and so blessed. You confessed in one of your previous posts that you had always had a problem with "being still" and now I understand why you can do so much! You accomplish more in a day than I do in a week! Have a wonderful time with your family for the 4th.......I was unable to get the weekend off but just sent my youngest off to represent our family at Mom's for the weekend.......Hugs

I smiled when I saw that blue fabric with the red and white streamers and the red with blue and white stars in your bunting flags. I picked up a 1/2 yard of each of those on sale at Joann's to make a new 4th of July table topper.
