One of the things we do each summer is take a family fishing trip to the Sierras. It’s always such a great time for the kids as well as the adults. This was our group this year after a fun day of fishing.
The scenery is spectacular and would be worth it even if we caught no fish. Here are a few more photos from our time away.
Oldest and youngest granddaughter.
We missed the wild weather that we had while we were gone. ;-( We so seldom get lightening, thunder and rain so it was a shame that it happened while we were away. However, we will take it whenever we can get it. Following the storm we have had really humid weather – another rarity for us. They say these are all good signs for an El Nino year for us this winter. We shall see and keep hoping.
We also spent a bit of time at the beach this week with some of the little ones.
I got three more Minion beanies done in the car while traveling and a bit of sewing done today, but I will share that in my next post.
I wish summer could last a little longer. How about you?
How wonderful that everyone has their own playing mates to take along with them. I hope you didn't have to ended up cooking for them all! Did you actually get any fish? Love the beach photos! That seaweeds would dye beautifully! Hugs Nat
ReplyDeleteIt loooks like a fantastic time!! Wonderful memories for everybody!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your craftiness but some of my favorite posts are your beautiful family.

ReplyDeleteLove to see your family photos Mary. The cabbage patch hat is hilarious. I think baby didn't want a hat on such a lovely day. Such a great time together. x
ReplyDeleteI always love to see your beautiful family photos...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the cute little one in the Cabbage Patch Hat......
I would love some warmer weather. Sitting in the caravan in the middle of Western Australia freezing. I think it's time to hop into bed where it's warm....
What a gorgeous family!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fabulous family fun get together.
ReplyDeleteFamily time is the best! What a great photo of all of you. I am itching to get to the beach, but will have to wait until the end of August. Yes... I wish summer could last long. I am NOT a winter person at all!
ReplyDeleteSuper special that so many gather and enjoy this family time. Precious photos, especially of the oldest and youngest granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous family you have! You know, our schools finally broke up today for the summer holidays, so, to UK kiddies, the summer is just beginning. Missy is now on holiday - and my daughter-in-law broke up last week. She is a teacher. Way too late, we always thought, and, so help me , it is freezing today, Rain and temps of 13C. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the fall here I am never ready to say goodbye to summer........Some of the best times are always family time.....when little Iris Emma was born our children got together with cousins and it was the best....your family is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of family fun. Love the beach!
ReplyDeleteOur best family vacations have been at the beach. Looks like a beautiful family enjoying their time together!
ReplyDeletePhotos are such a great way to reflect and treasure family memories. What a great looking family you have!!!
ReplyDeleteI dropped in after reading a comment you left for me in 2012! What a great family you have. Where I live some of us, more often than not, look forward to the end of summer because of day after day of extreme heat. I hope you get those rains that El Nino promises. We were in a drought for the last several years, however the big drought buster that everyone prayed for happened in May this year. Have fun with your needling and keep on blogging. Best wishes from Mary in Texas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a large family you have ... how big a place do you own/rent on your getaways? It's been hot and humid lately here. I'm looking forward to an end of that, but I can't say that I'm looking forward to fall ... even though I love fall, it also means that winter isn't far behind. Grrr
ReplyDeleteSummertime fun indeed!! You even made time to go to the beach after that!! The Sierra pictures are marvelous, many fun and great memories. Can't wait to see the Minion beanies :)

That's a good looking group picture! I bet it was really fun. Where do you stay? I was just going to ask WHERE in the Sierras and then I saw your tag at the bottom. My kids spent the weekend at Tuolumne Meadows and had to hang out in the van for awhile during a thunderstorm. (not sure the van was the safest place either, but better than the tent camper...)
