Pink is generally a color that I do not use much. Perhaps it is because my mother always told me that I should not wear pink with my red hair. Then again, it could be because I had four sons first and the house was anything but pink for many years. Whatever the reason, this month has seen me noticing a lot of pink.
The sunrises have been beautiful this week with the pink color lighting up the entire sky.
This month’s RSC14 color is also pink. Scrounging through my pink scraps, I was able to come up with this block.
One of the plants blooming in the yard now has such a great color combination of orange and pink. I think these colors would make a fabulous quilt.
Several years ago I made my mom a brushed satin nightshirt that she has loved. It is showing its wear so this week I made her a new one to replace it…..in PINK.
Okay….I think I am finished with my pinks. I wonder what color will strike my fancy next.
I;m not a pink person either Mary. My Dad always liked me in red with my dark hair. And raising 3 boys...no pink!!! lol.
ReplyDeleteI like hot pink or fuchsia...the pinks on your post today are all lovely. I agree with the orange and pink color combo on those flowers.....would definitely make a great quilty color!
ReplyDeleteNot much pink here either...but I tell myself I've saved a lot of money on clothes with boys rather than girls. Cute nightshirt!
ReplyDeleteI love pink. It's one of the colors I wear a lot. That flower is gorgeous with it's pink and orange hues. Nature is just full of beautiful color combinations. Your pink block is lovely as well.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your pinks, especially that pretty block!
ReplyDeleteLove your pink....I love pink...do I ever!!
ReplyDeleteI've never liked pink very much either, but I have a 4 year old grand daughter who will only wear pink. She even has bright pink soccer shoes :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves a pink sky! It is always so unexpected.
ReplyDeleteI love pink and especially when paired with green. I love your flowers.
I didn't get into pink until my grand daughter came along. Even though my first child is a girl, but she never like pink. I think pink and orange would make a great quilt. Love that pink sky too - Hugs Nat
ReplyDeletePink is my favorite color. I wear it a lot, but prefer purple and blue in my quilts. I enjoyed your lovely photos. Your pink scrap block is wonderful. And the pink sky is stunning. I love the pink flowers too. Can you tell I just love pink?
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I would choose pink and orange together on my own ... but when I see those flowers, I think why not? I definitely need to take a cue from nature!
ReplyDeletePretty in Pink! No one does it better than Mother Nature. Gorgeous sky. Love the pinks in your block. The pink and orange flowers remind me of a bedspread I had in the early 70s.
ReplyDeleteI agree, those flower colours are stunning, with sage green leaves and brown bark chips you have the inspiration for a sparkling quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love your pink block.
I usually don't have pink in my stash either; but, I too have been adding some for various reasons. Love your pink sunset!

ReplyDeletePretty pinks! Love the flowers and sunrise. Although I don't use it a lot, I like pink. Having a DGD has me looking at it a lot more. LOL Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat block! I still have lots of pink scraps.

ReplyDeletePink is one of my favorite colors, Mary! Your block is SO pretty! Beautiful work on the nightshirt, too! Do you use a serger or your regular sewing machine for that?
ReplyDeleteCheers!
You found some really great pink to work with!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pink sky! So glad you took some time to enjoy pink this month.

ReplyDeleteHow nice for you to make a shirt for your mom. I too am not a pink person, but find myself using alot fo it these days!
ReplyDeleteWhat color will you be focused on next? I'm making a pink and purple quilt right now, so maybe it's just the fact that spring is around the corner that it's on our minds:) Maybe your next color will be green...
ReplyDeleteLove the pink flowers. So very happy. And your block is fabulous. I think I need to make some.
