Long Summer Break

It has been a long, unintentional summer break from blogging.  Apparently, all things techy at my house decided to go on permanent vacations.  My computer was one of the more distressing losses.  That  brought my blogging to a halt.  My new one should arrive next week and get me back up and running again.  For this post, I am using my old, old computer which has a mind of its own.  If I do not reply to your comments, please understand it is only a temporary situation.

I simply wanted to link up with Susan at Quilt Fabrication for her National Dog Day post.....all things dog.

This is a quilt that I made many years ago for one of our grandsons.  He is currently a 6'5" high school senior so I am sure he is no longer using his quilt.  I have always loved this pattern.  It was posted in a Quiltmaker magazine.  If I were to make it again, I think I would appliqué some black eyes on at least a few of the dogs.

Although we have had cats for pets in the past, we are currently sharing our home with two King Charles Cavaliers.  They are my constant sewing companions and check my work at each stage of quilting.

Be sure to pop over and visit the other cute dog quilts and pups.

  1. How lovely to visit you, Mary. Technology can be a beast. Your grandson's quilt is very cute. The fire hydrant and sweet dogs do make me smile. Your little doggy guests seem to have made themselves completely at home. Fabulous they are keeping you company as you see away.

  2. What sweet doggies! I do love the fire hydrant quilt - whenever Percy sprinkles on one we find ourselves laughing. The quilt would surly remind me of that.

  3. Your pups are adorable! And they sure do love to ham it up for the camera don't they. Gibbs wants to be in the center of my outdoor photoshoots. Good luck getting your new computer set up the way you want it. I find blogging is much easier on the desktop than on the tablet.

  4. So sorry to hear about your computer woes. Never fun. I hope you get a new computer soon and the migration goes smoothly. I do so love dogs it is fun to read your post and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your four legged kids help celebrate international dog day. I sure wish I had a dog. Some day we'll be home enough to adopt. Right now I just don't think we can provide a good home, so in the meantime I'm a free volunteer to dog sit and dog walk any dog that might need such a "free volunteer" in So. Cal.

  9. Your dogs and quilts are so sweet! My sewing room has turned into a catio annex housing my sister's 3 cats. I'm a day away from being finished cleaning out her house...and then it will be my house to clean as I brought stuff home after I just couldn't make any more decisions. I'm grateful to get this far.

  10. OMD so cute. I've wanted a black and white cocker forever. Our 4 year old black standard poodle is turning gray! So he's a "blue" I guess... LeeAnna at not afraid of color

  15. What a wonderful doggy heaven! Isn't it amazing how our pets will zero in on our quilts when we are trying to get a photo? I managed to adopt 2 kitties this summer that must have heard St. Francis was living at my house......
