The roses have been gorgeous this year with all of our winter rains. As I pick the various colors, I keep thinking of which would I choose as my favorite.
Would it be these...
or some Hot Cocoa.....
or faithful long stemmed yellows....
or classic pink???
Maybe it is just a mixed vase.....
I missed my last link up with my BlooM blocks for our SAL, but I have continued to work on them. I'll have three new blocks to link up this weekend.
The completed blocks so far, in no particular order.
With the new month just a few sleeps away, a new Gridster Bee queen has given us her block choice. It's looking like Christmas sewing in May.
I was the lucky recipient of one of Cindy's beautiful pincushions that she makes with her selvages. I just LOVE how she personalizes them. She has a great storage system for her selvages. You can read more about that and see some of her gorgeous work on her blog. It looks so pretty in my pincushion basket.
We had a blessed Easter with a family and friends. Several of the college grandchildren were not able to make it home, but we managed to get a group shot of the ones who were there.
We had six of the grandchildren over the weekend while their parents were away for a wedding. The dogs were in their element with all the snuggles.
We are at the start of strawberry season in our area. The berries have been so juicy and large this year. It's a shame that we can't enjoy them year round, but we probably wouldn't appreciate them as much.
Until next time....
Mary, the roses are magnificent - the colours are so amazing that it would be difficult to choose a favourite! I have never seen such a large strawberry.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a huge strawberry! You have a lot more roses than I do but I think yours and my yellow roses are the prettiest.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are gorgeous! I imagine your home smells heavenly. That strawberry looks like it would feed a family of four. 🤣
ReplyDeleteAll of your roses are beautiful but my favorite is the mixed bouquet. Wow, what large strawberries. I don't think they ever grow that large around here.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that is one huge strawberry, well, lots of huge strawberries. Your roses are so gorgeous. I don't know which would be my favorite. Love that blooming quilt too.
ReplyDeleteThose roses look so beautiful! I bet they smell wonderful. And now I'm hungry for strawberries :-)
ReplyDeleteI could use one or two of those huge strawberries to go with the rapidly growing rhubarb. Some strawberry-rhubarb crunch or pie sounds mighty good! Your roses are gorgeous, I especially love Hot Cocoa against the backdrop of your lovely mini quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely variety of roses growing - are they scented as well? And the strawberry - wow!! Lovely sewing - I love your blooms blocks, and such a cute wee pincushion.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful roses and I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite either..
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your family pics and the little one with the pup is gorgeous.
Those strawberries look delicious..
Strawberries, roses, little children and quilting? Your post seemingly contains all the essentials for great living. So fun to see what you've been doing, and to see your beautiful family as well. Can't believe we are forecasting rain for next week (maybe that will be one of those forecasts that mutates and disappears). However, it will keep your gardens looking beautiful, and my little sprouts of tomatoes in our garden very happy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses! I wouldn't be able to pick a favourite. I love them all. Ours are just about finished for the year now, and hungry wallabies have eaten the leaves off quite a few of the bushes.
ReplyDeleteYour Bloom is looking beautiful.
Easter looks like a wonderful time with so many of your family joining you.
Your roses are beautiful! You must have had so much fun with the grandchildren. I admire your gardening and I also admire ow much you get done!
ReplyDeleteWhy, I would have to pick every colour rose for my favourite. Such gorgeous roses, Mary. Sewing is kinder to the body isn't it but being Spring I would imagine if you do not spend some time in the garden regularly, the weeds take over. Love the photo of your family. You always look as if you have the best of family celebrations. Oh, how I love your Bloom blocks.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses!! Love the colours! Your bloom blocks could not be more perfect for this time of the year. The Gridster Bee blocks are so crisp. Congratulations on winning the pincushion. I can't even begin to imagine sewing/patchwork at that scale. That is such a sweet photo of the kiddo and the puppy. I am loving the strawberry season, they are definitely much more flavourful this year.
