How Does Your Garden Grow

For so long I have been seeing the hexagon "One Flower Wednesday" sew alongs on various blogs.  The flowers always look so pretty.  Someday I will definitely make a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt, but I have decided to join Thearica for her "How Does Your Garden Grow" quilt along.  You can make any kind of flower and I have decided to go with yo yo flowers.  I have an idea where I will go with it and I hope it works out.  Check out the link and join in with us.  These are my first three flowers.  I worked on them while riding in the car - a great takealong project.

My real flowers are doing pretty well too.  This is an area of the patio where the plumerias are blooming.  The smell is just heavenly.

Thanks to our generous neighbors who were gone for the weekend, we had some extra fun in store for the children.  It was quite refreshing.

"jump, jump...we'll catch you"

The latest two blocks of my Civil War quilt along are finished........

as is the July Birdie Stitches block.

I can't believe it is already August.  School will soon be starting and it will be Christmas again before we know it.  The years are going much too quickly.

  26. I am SO far behind! I'm anxious to get caught up.

I can't believe you can sew as you ride in the car - I would be so nauseated! I just recently have been able to read a bit as I ride.

We've had a great couple of weeks, but I have so much to do, and am tired - I need a vacation to catch up from the vacations!

  31. Did you say Christmas??? I'm just going to have to wash out your mouth with soap!! hehe I know what you mean, though, it's hard to believe we're in August already. Schools don't reopen until the first week of September over here so the children have another month to enjoy:-)

The grands certainly did look like they were enjoying using that pool! I would have jumped right in with them:-) Our neighbours on the left side of us have an above ground pool but the pump broke down and they can't afford to have it fixed so they haven't been able to use the pool. Figures it's the hottest summer we've had in years! We finally got a bit of rain the other day, the first in over a month and a half. Not enough, though, everything is still so dry.

Your yo-yo flowers are so delightful and your real flowers are stunning. A lot of my flowers are now done and all that's left in bloom are some late blooming lilies, hydrangea, clematis and sunflowers. Oh and in my faerie garden there are roses, begonias and impatiens blooming.

I've just come in from hanging laundry on the clothesline and I'm in a sweat! lol A little too hot for me out there, much prefer being inside with the air conditioner!! Have a wonderful weekend my friend. xoxox
