2008 Christmas Tour of Homes

Boomama is hosting a tour of blogger homes for Christmas. It is such a great idea and I have had so much fun checking out the incredible decorating of the different homes. If you get a chance to visit some of them you, too, will be amazed at how talented people are in the blogging world.

Since I have already posted photos of some of my Nativity sets, I will show you some of the other decorations that are finally up around my home.

I did show pictures of my kitchen cupboards, but I wanted to show you that this is where I also display our Christmas cards that we receive. It's a great way to enjoy them throughout the season. Each cupboard door is actually wrapped like a package with one LONG piece of wired ribbon and tied in the front. After Christmas I will just roll the ribbons back up and use them again the following year.

The "real" tree in the family room.

My kitchen table display.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus smokers.

My smoker men. I love this collection. Placing a piece of lit incense inside will make them appear to be smoking as the smoke comes from their mouths.

My soldier nutcrackers that stand guard in the entry.

The mantle that displays Christmas paper ornaments made by my little sister.

Greeters on the sofa table.

Santa awaiting children in search of candy canes in his bag.

The living room with my in-laws Christmas tree and the Christmas train under the tree. I love all the colored lights that are already on the tree.

The upper windows in the sunroom.

Now you need to go over and check out some of the other decorations. You will be glad that you did. You will not have the crowds that one normally finds if doing a Christmas home tour!

  2. I love you decorations. I enjoyed reading your profile. It is "nice to meet you". I, too, am a registered nurse. Of interest to you seeing your NICU experience. YOu should check out my blog and see my new twin grandbabies. The were born Nov 20 at 31 weeks gestation. We were hoping they may be home by Christmas, but MD said today not to get our hopes up....Pray for them......will be stopping back to visit.

  12. Oh everything looks soooooooo nice! I cracked up over the little smoker people, that is a hoot, have never seen those before! Great way to dispaly your Christmas cards too and you answered my question on how you keep the ribbon on the cupboard doors. Great idea!! I still haven't finished, I don't know if I will but that's okay this year. I refuse to be stressed.

We are having a nice snow storm and it's so pretty out. Will probably get 5 or 6 inches when all is said and done. I drove up to the stable this morning and the visibility was awful! My friend Ann called from half way there and decided to turn around and head back home. She has to drive about 20 minutes or so where I only have a 5 minute drive.

Well Dad and I just did some more work on the outside Christmas lights. Hopefully tonight everything will come on. We have been having an on going battle with them and I refuse to let them win! ha! I am going to try to get out there with my tripod tonight and get some pictures.

It sounds like you might be getting some rain. I watched the weather report and they were talking rain out your way. We got rid of all the ice thankfully with not too much damage in our general area. Some areas are still without power!

Take care my dear friend!!! Merry Christmas!
