The end of the month always means it is time for the AYOS Parade hosted by Sinta and Sherri. The pattern for the month was Mini Stems. I showed the completed top earlier this month.
I managed to get it quilted and bound as well. I was trying to get a picture of it today, but it is a dark and rainy day here. Please pardon the washed out colors and shadows.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here. The weather was perfect for everyone to be outside which is always a blessing when there are so many people here. You won’t hear me complain about the rain, but I was thankful that it held off until today.

......and now.....onwards to December………………. YIKES!
Your stems mini is gorgeous - such a refreshing design, and I like how you have finished it. Nice to hear you had a fine thanksgiving, you sure have a full house at times! Yikes December alright!

ReplyDeleteTHREE college students! :) Where will they be?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine being outside on Thanksgiving (most years) so it must be nice to have good weather for it. I'm sure the college bound kids will miss being at your gathering as much as you will miss them.
ReplyDeletedon't you hate to see them move away...but you love to see their independence too. your mini is lovely Mary. it reminds me of the book I have..playful petals.
ReplyDeleteAw...thank goodness for Skype. I'm sure these 3 will be missing the food, family, and fun as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will miss those 3 terribly.
ReplyDeleteYour little quilt is gorgeous ... love the fabrics and how the colors work so well together!
Wonderful quilting, Mary! Gosh - your temps were what we have in the summer - but never in Nov! Nice to know you're getting some needed rain, though!

ReplyDeleteSeriously!!!! The only good thing I can think of right now about it being December already, is that we are that much closer to spring LOL!!! Love your stems quilt! It's been very gray here too and pics are terrible no matter the time of day or where you try to take them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job you did on the stitching! I saw this pattern and you did a beautiful job with it!
ReplyDeleteThose beautiful young people will head of into the world of adulthood. What exciting time they will have ahead of them. Your Thanksgiving day sounds perfect. The mini stems quilt looks perfect. I love the color combinations of the leaves - Hugs Nat

Lovely quilt! Although I do not need another project, it's itching it's way on the "to-do" list! lol
ReplyDeleteI read you about kids going off to college. My baby will be leaving us next year! Sigh! The house will be so empty! Cheers!
Your stems are so cute Mary! And I love the fmq stitch you used in the sashing :) We have a couple of our kids heading off to college too. It's a great time, but also a bittersweet time as we send them off into the world, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been gray and rainy for weeks now. I think we've had a little sun one day - I think I'd better start hitting the Vitamin D :*)
November always gets away from me! I think because it's only 30 days and it's the busiest time at the end of the school year here in Australia, reports, concerts, marking etc.
