Any spare time has been spent in the gardens. One of the nice signs of spring's arrival is the blooming of the cacti. I love this very prickly cactus with it's heart shaped paddles and stunning flowers.
This cactus was started two years ago with a single paddle. It is almost to the roof now.
The flowers on it bloom in yellow.
This pink cactus is one in a pot with giant and showy flowers.
We had several birthdays in April including these three grandchildren.
The active little one with a pink cast for Easter!!!! |
Easter was celebrated at our son’s home with the extended family – aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. It was a spectacular day filled with fun and joy. We took lots of photos, but here is a shot of the grandchildren all together (minus 1).
This is a picture as we were trying to round everyone up for a group shot – not an easy task when there are around 150 people.
I’ll try to do a better job of showing some sewing projects in my next post - if I remember how to use the sewing machine. ;-)
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your family!

ReplyDeleteAnd they ALL looked at the camera. Gorgeous family. Growing up in the Southern California desert, I am intimately familiar with cactus. I've landed in a few in my day. :o) They do have pretty flowers. Dad's entire front yard has a cactus garden.
ReplyDeleteTimes like that it's hard to think about sewing, Mary! I love all the grandchildren together...and the one with bright red hair and blue lips must have been eating something pretty, darned yummy out of the Easter basket!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

ReplyDelete150 that is amazing. You could have your own village. The cacti look great, so different to what we have in our gardens as you know.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your post title... :)
ReplyDeleteThink of it that way, at least you were around needles (albeit needles from the cacti!) -- Sorry, that was such a lame pun.
Loved the pictures of your family.
We had 80+ at our last reunion--I can't even imagine 150!! Fun shot of the grandchildren all together. I loved also seeing the photos of your blooming cacti--so beautiful.
