Halloween has come and gone. We had very few trick or treaters again this year in spite of nice warm temperatures. Our kids always come over for a quick dinner of lentil bean soup, fresh bread and salad before heading out for trick or treating in the neighborhood. I love seeing the little ones in their costumes.
I continue to work away at the Just Takes 2 blocks. I think we only have a few more blocks to do before we are finished. I have close to 90 blocks completed so far. These are the latest.
My DIL asked if I would make a Christmas stocking for their children's school auction which is coming up in a few weeks. Although it looks blue in the photo it is a lovely shade of regal purple.
Last evening we had the thrill of attending our granddaughter's 16th birthday party. They had the nicest group of kids and we had a blast. There were several who played different instruments and entertained us with their wonderful music and fantastic voices.
Several years ago our granddaughter had fallen in love with my pinwheel quilt. I told her she could have it when she turned 16 and she has reminded me of the fact ever since. Last night she finally got it and, although she knew she was going to receive it, she loved it.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the kickoff of the UR Priceless Blog Hop. Again, I get to show mine on the first day. Yeah. I think we will see a whole lot of wonderful coin bags and I am looking forward to it.
How thrilling to gift a quilt to a special granddaughter who treasures it.

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy hearing about the Grands. What a lovely gift for your GD and one she will cherish forever. Love the stocking...it does look "Regal" for sure! And I was happy to get out of work this morning and see daylight instead of the darkness that had been greeting me since the days began to get shorter. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteOh! and your JT2 blocks are awesome! I am still downloading the patterns each month but am so behind now that you have lapped me a couple of times now! LOL...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your grand daughter and I bet she is really happy to finally have that beautiful quilt! Cute pics of the grand-kids in their Halloween costumes and I can't wait to see your coin bag tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteSome very cute trick or treaters and your Christmas stocking is lovely. Your Granddaughter seems thrilled with her quilt.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that your grand-daughter has loved that quilt all this time. What a wonderful and precious gift for her birthday.
ReplyDeleteso many fun pictures on your post. Your JT2 blocks are amazing. The costumes on the grandkids are great, and I can see why your grand daughter wanted that pinwheel quilt so much!
ReplyDeleteBTW- we don't have day light savings time here in AZ, which is quite nice :) no adjustments needed every 6 months.
What's not to love about that pinwheel quilt. Happy belated 16th birthday to your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all your grands decked out in their Halloween costumes! What fun that must have been.
I'm with you, not liking the getting dark part at 5:30!! Just makes the evening seem sooo long.
ReplyDeleteSuch darling Halloween costumes your grandkids wore...and a couple of scary ones! lol We only got about 25 trick or treaters which is the lowest amount we've ever had. I miss the days when we use to have almost 200!! Our neighbourhood is getting older, not too many young kids around any more.
Happy 16th birthday to your granddaughter, it certainly does look like she had a fun party:-) She looks thrilled with her quilt as well!! xoxo
