PPPP

It's that time of the year again for Ida's Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade or PPPP.  There are lots of great prizes to be won and lots of pincushion inspiration to be had.  Be sure to check it out HERE.

I really haven't added many pincushions to my collection this year.  One thing that I do is make pincushions for the granddaughters as they learn to sew with me.  This was one that I made this year.

Another pincushion that I added was an elongated one to rest along the front of my sewing machine.  I have seen so many of them and they are the perfect shape for placing right where they are needed.  This one was made out of scraps and made up so quickly.  I stuff all of my pincushions with walnut shells and fiberfill to give them the needed weight to keep them in place.

Ida asked that we also add our "ugly" pincushions to the parade.  Although these are pretty worn and ugly, there is no way I could part with them.

The first is from my beginning sewing days.  It has definitely seen better days.  It is now used very gently as I do not want to completely wear it out.

This last one is a true treasure as it was made by one of my granddaughters when she first learned to sew.  She is now in college!

So.....pop over to Ida's and show us your pincushions.

I remember the Tomato 🍅 one. Had one once but don't know where it went..

I love the new pin cushions and must make an elongated one for use at my machine but the older ones get the biggest ahhhh. I have a strawberry pin cushion that my daughter gave me for Christmas when she was 4 or 5 and I still use it but very gently. She is now 29.

That last one is so sweet! Love the long one for the front of your machine - it could be that I 'need' one of those. xx

Love your pincushions, especially the elongated one. I think I need to make one of those to sit in front of my machine. Thanks for the inspiration!

I especially love your elongated pincushion, it looks like it would be perfect for in front of the sewing machine. I have a couple of the tomato ones and treasure them, but like yours they are wearing out quickly after all these years.

How wonderful! I don't use pin cushions, but might have to make a few after seeing yours. They are just too cute!

Mary I love your pin cushions. The doggie print is adorable and the elongated one so practical. The one your granddaughter made is so full of love I can feel it all the way over here in Texas! I have one of those myself that my son made for me when he was about 11 hrs old.💕

I am intrigued by your sewing machine pillow - I've been toying with making something similar and attaching it to my machine. The best one though is the one your granddaughter made!

You make them for your granddaughters and they make them for you. Nice exchange! Love that old tomato too. Or is it a strawberry? Is it stuffed with sawdust?

Pincushions are always such fun...to make and to collect. Yours are wonderful...especially made by your Granddaughter. We have finally had a lovely cool clear day. We worked outside continuing to upgrade the "curb appeal" which really doesn't exist here. Falling into Autumn...<3

Your pincushions are pretty, Mary! Even the 'ugly' ones. I love the second one as it reminds me of my paintbox, specially love the little hand quilting.
