AYOS–Schnibble Finish

I really haven’t been very good at doing the monthly Schnibbles this year, but I couldn’t pass up the idea of a mini one this month.  We were to choose a Camille Roskelley mini pattern and my choice was Thimble Blossoms.

The batting was a little thicker than what I normally like to use, but I like the way the quilting shows up on the piece.

Be sure to check out the Schnibble Parade tomorrow at Sherri and Sinta’s blogs.

What batting did you use? I feel like I'm in a batting rut, but since most of the quilts I make are for my daughter and/or her family and they prefer the low-loft, lightweight poly batting, that's what I use. ;-)

This is just so sweet and nicely quilted to accent. And what a cute display with your old spool basket.

This is my favorite schnibble! What batting did you use? I like a bit more loft to show off the quilting!!

I really want to make a spools quilt! Maybe a mini would satisfy. This one is adorable.

The quilt turned out lovely. I need to do something small so I can finish something completely. I am in a rut.

Lovely Schnibble! I used your suggestion to use two layers of batting for my latest quilt. Great idea, thanks!

Love it! I dropped out too, when I realized I was making more Schnibbles and fewer of my own quilts. But I love the ones I did, and will probably try a few more this summer. I have them all stacked up on the armoire in the guest bedroom.

I applaud your choice of the threads, and you're right--the quilting looks fabulous with the poofier batting. Great job!

This is wonderful! I love the quilting :-) This pattern is next on my Thimbleblossoms list. Thank you for leaving sweet comments on my blog :-) I wanted to let you know that for some reason not all of the comments on my blog are going to my email and yours has been one of them. I'm sure it's nothing on your end, it seems like my blog randomly chooses which comments are going to my email today? I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your coments and if I don't reply, it's probably because of that issue. I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else. Your comment wasn't the only one that didn't go to my email but still showed up on my blog......sorry this got so long!

Looks good! I don't like high loft batting either. I find it doesn't matter how well I baste it I get puckering on the backing. On a mini quilt I think it would be fine though. I do like how the quilting looks puffy with high loft batting.
