My last post was December 13th!  I can't believe that so much has happened since then.  I won't even try to catch up with all that has happened, but we had a fabulous Christmas.  There was lots of entertaining, cooking, cleaning and all that goes along with the joyful time of the year.

We also did a lot of germ sharing which easily spread through all of us.  They do say that holidays are for sharing!

Winter has settled in here with unseasonally cold temperatures.  I'm ready for some of those warm temperatures we had last year.  As you can tell by looking at my temperature quilt from 2018, it was a warm one.

The colors are not really true in the photo.  A truer color is below, but the winds were blowing too hard to get an outside photo shoot.

It's nice to have the new year with a clean slate for some stitching.  I am not one to make lists, but I hope to get some of my UFOs finished up this year.  In between I will be participating in a few blog hops - the first one will be the Black and White blog hop starting on January 21st.

Once again, I will be a member of two bees this year - the Gridster Bee (IG #gridsterbee) and my Sewing With Friends swap group. Our January Gridster Bee block is for colorful trees.

In our Sewing With Friends group we are finishing up swapping table runners this month.  Ida's request was for a Christmas themed topper.

I have slowly been stitching the Good Fortune Mystery quilt clues together.  It will be fun to see the blocks come together.

My hope is to do a better job with my blogging this year.  I wish you all a wonderful 2019.

  3. The days just fly by ....Another week is gone before we blink...
Pleased you had a lovely Festive season and hope you all got over the germ sharing quickly....
I find it's hard to get true colours in photos. You did have a lot of hot days last year ... Our summer sew far has been mild but it's usually hottest Feb, when the kids go back to school.Nice colourful trees for the Bee swap.
Ida's topper is lovely and I like the fabrics you are using for GF.
I have made a list of UFO's this year and hope to get some finishes.
    Enjoy your Swap Hops...

  6. You accomplish an amazing amount of projects! I hope the flu bug is behind you - it was a nasty one. Our warm spell ended with a good blow and some fresh snow - some drifts are chest high - must be January. Have fun with your new projects.

  7. Our temperature quilts will look very similar. Although, I had to order more warmer weather fabrics from the FQS. Hope to finish it soon.

I love the little table topper. The buttons were a perfect addition.

  9. Lovely projects! It's fun to see all the colors you are working with. Your Temperature Quilt turned out beautiful and so interesting. I can't wait to see more work on your Good Fortune. I really like the colors you chose.
There was a moment of a brilliant sunrise here again this morning. Most of the sky is grey with the peak of bright corals on the southern horizon. My camera was just not capturing it though. Too much light washing away the contrast. The cats and I are still watching though :-) =^..^= =^..^=

  10. Those trees look like a lot of fun! It has been unseasonably warm here (KS)--third mild winter in a row, and NOT good for a lot of reasons. I"m ready for some blizzards. Glad you had a wonderful holiday!

  14. Your unseasonably cold winter thus far has translated into an unseasonably warm winter for us thus far, though that is about to end between tonight and tomorrow! I hope you can find many hours to work on the projects you most enjoy in the coming year!

  15. I love seeing what you are doing and love how you bring forward new ideas for us to enjoy!

Your temperature quilt is finished--terrific! I like the place embroidered on the bottom, as it becomes a true record of the place where you live. And your Good Fortuen is coming along beautifully. I downloaded all the clues, but knew it was not going to happen this time around.

Good for you for going after the UFOs. I still have a few that I want to complete, too. Happy New Year, Mary!

  22. Your mystery quilt is gorgeous, in spite of the ripping involved. I had one I was working on a couple weeks ago that I had to rip off the border three times. I had to walk away, too, though I haven't walked back to it yet.

  24. So strange seeing you saying the same things I was thinking, that I am not into New Years resolutions at all, but I also will be finishing a few old things, AND I will also try to participate in a few blog hops. The temp. quilt looks so great, and the colours for your Good Fortune Mystery quilt are beautiful. Your bee blocks are wonderful too. Love the idea of colourful trees. The table topper is fantastic, love that swirly green. You always have such lovely projects :)
