Missing U

My "u" has decided to play it's own game here.  Perhaps it is marching to its own beat, but it will not appear in my typing unless I stop and specifically push it down....hard!  Do you have any idea how often you type a "u"?????   I think it is time for a new laptop, but we all know what that means.  It's hours of transferring things to a new computer.  UGH!!!

Onto more pleasant subjects....

The first row of my Temperature quilt is now finished and the second row is well on it's way to completion.  As you can see, it has been an exceptionally warm January for us.  It is hard to imagine so many of the 80* color range in January.

My design floor has become a bit more challenging with a puppy following me everywhere.

We had our annual family snow trip last weekend.  We enjoyed two beautiful snows while we were there, but it was COLD this year.  I never tire of the view.  I know our snowmen leave a bit to be desired, but they were fun to make and the little ones had fun with them.

With so many people there, we eat in shifts.  I had to chuckle at the "first shift" photo.  Cucumbers on the eyes????

I always love seeing fancy towel folding when I am a guest.  I should do this at home for my guests.

One final picture from the snow.  The ice crystals on the windshield were so pretty.  I apologize to all of you who live in the cold part of the country for my excitement over visiting it.  I know it has been a really cold winter for many of you.

It sounds like a very boring time around here, but I have been busy with some blog hop sewing, assisting a kindergarten class with quilt blocks and helping a granddaughter make a school mythology costume.  Perhaps I will have more to show next time.

I'm happy to say our winter has been mild; no snow since Christmas and it's all melted. The ice crystal pic is beautiful. So glad you enjoyed your snow getaway. :o) LOVE the cucumber eyes. LOL! Did Toby go on the trip? He's such a handsome little guy. May the "u" be with you.

OMG.....a couple of the keys on my laptop are sticking and one of them is "U" I thought one of the little people had dropped peanut butter or something just as bad on the keys. I'd even blowing air over the keys. This is very strange. I'll do a bit more investigating to find out what's going on.

Your snow photos are such fun to see. Even though we live in snow country we love to get out and shoot photos on those beautiful days when everything is crystal clear and the sun is shining. Quite a change from your 80 degree days depicted on your temperature quilt.

We have been seeing warmer temps around here too...but just when I say that we seem to get another cold snap! Love that little snowman and maker!!

Awesome photos! We live in a cold part of our country and still enjoy the wonderful photo shots that winter gives us. I hadn't considered how many times one uses U and am quite surprised - the lack of one is an obvious challenge for you. :)

I'm green with envy at your snow trip. I wish we would get snow but living in London it's unlikely. I need to move to Scotland. Great photos of the snow and family.

Love the first shift! It must be so wonderful to see them all together. The windshield photo is awesome! I'd love to get a shot like that. And there is certainly nothing wrong with your snowmen. They were made with love and fun and a=that's all that matters.

I finally have all of the fabrics for my temperature quilt, so hope to start on it soon. My colors will be all over the place for the month of January! We have been from -4 up to 73! Your snow pictures are beautiful... as long as the snow isn't at my house. :)

My "ii" always prints twice as in typiing. Now my "n" is starting to do the same.

Love the photos....snowman, cute boy, etc.

Oh my goodness! The "u" key sticking when one talks about quilts a lot is not fun! Even worse for temperature quilts! Looking good so far!

January was quite nice until yesterday when it began some snow flurries and then left about 4 inches upon everything. I honestly prefer my snow to stay up in the ski resorts like your family enjoys so much. Love the snowman and the cucumber eyes. JOYful January...<3

Interesting to see how your temperature quilt is shaping up. And what a faubulous annual holiday you all have - I too would be be in raptures over the snow! My daughter had no 'p' for most of the time she was at university..copy and pasting P was her speciality!

Janice is right, how can you type "quilt" without a U? Might have to go with "kwilt" :) My husband's computer has a sticky "T" so that frustration is well known around here.

Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your family!

You take the best family trips! I love the snow and those cucumber eyes are too funny. Sometimes pulling the key off and cleaning under it helps.

Your quilt is looking so neat! I understand what you are saying about the "u" key.....I had that happen with the S key on my old laptop....what a pain!

Looks like you had another wonderful year for your snow trip and guess what??? We didn't get the snow from it!

Gosh, golly, gee, I love your temperature quilt! It will be very interesting. I don’t particularly like cold and snow, but your pictures sure makes it look appealing.

I love the photo with the puppy walking on your temperature quilt. So sweet. 80s already?! That is really hot. The snow photos truly represent winter wonderland. The snowmen are cute and the little one looks so happy standing beside his creation. What an adorable bunch at the table. Cucumbers on the eyes made me laugh out loud. Love seeing your photos, Mary!!

Another fun family event! I always enjoy your family time stories.

I just returned from 10 days of travel and have many blocks to sew for my temperature quilt. I love the year and month blocks you've added...I may copy that idea ;)

Love the idea of a temp quilt but I'm afraid mine would show little change most weeks. Looks like a great place to have a little family fun~ I like it when you can visit snow, and then leave it behind. LOL Happy stitching!

Your vacation/snow trip looks idyllic, and this time you didn't have to worry about being snowed in. That is a gorgeous view--our mountains are all brown, so I think that forebodes ill for our summer and water. I love the temperature quilt you're making. It is crazy to have such warm temps in January, and it doesn't look like they'll be abating any time soon. Fun snowman, fun cucumbers on the eyes, fun to see you with your family!
