Sewing Notions

We were on the road again to a business conference in Phoenix, but I had a few days to stitch before we left.  You have seen my sewing words quilt in previous posts.  When Brenda (IG brendaandblue) sent me her words she included a fabulous book with paper pieced sewing notion patterns.  I loved the book and like Brenda, thought they could be used in my word quilt.  Once I got going I couldn't stop.

There are still a couple more that I want to finish - a thimble and a button jar, but I have had fun sewing these.

Speaking of word quilts....have you seen the QAL that is soon going to start at Elm Street Quilts?  I may have to jump in on this one.

While we were in Phoenix I continued sewing on my nativity cross stitch project.  I managed to stitch a sheep and start on my last shepherd as well as do some outline stitching.

It doesn't look like much for a couple of days of stitching, but when I compare it to last week I feel better.  See the headless shepherd on the left side?

So.....it is Memorial Day weekend.  How did we get here already?  It's the kickoff to summer here in the northern hemisphere.  This weekend is also our 47th wedding anniversary.  How the years have flown!  I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend.

  15. Happy Anniversary! You guys are like young marrieds with all your energy and your full life. Your notions blocks turned out wonderfully--what did you make the rotary blade from? It looks like metal! Glad you are getting your stitching done--I only located mine, but haven't done much with it at all. Looks like I'd better get some good TV programs, or DVDs to watch!
