Wednesday's Nothingness

The peaches and apricots are finished and strawberries are left to do, but I have slipped a few fun projects in between the chores.

We have a granddaughter turning eleven this weekend and she asked me if I would make her a dress for her birthday.  The request was as follows - a full skirt, a big bow,  ruffle on the bottom and sleeves so she could wear it to church.

Ta da.........

#1, 2 and 3  Full skirt, sleeves and ruffle.

 #4  The bow.
Sorry about the breeze that didn't allow me to get a great picture.  I also added a few extras.   These are made from the fabric, fused onto felt and using those great snap products.  She will love these.

Hairpins and ring

My sister's birthday is also this weekend and she is an avid reader, but no interest in sewing.  How opposite can we be?????  I had seen the perfect  quilt for her on a blog and made it up with some scraps.  I think she will love it.

Lastly.... we've enjoyed a few fun days having this little angel around.  She was a little crabby as she is cutting four molars all at once.  Ouch!!!!

Don't you love those first pigtails?

I also love that quilt. I'm a reader too although it gets harder as I get older because I have really dry eyes!

Teeth can be trouble coming in and going out. Lets hope it is forever before Miss Pigtails has to deal with them leaving.

My daughter is a librarian and has asked me to make her a quilt similar to that. I don't even know how to begin! And did you print the titles on your printer or how did you do that? Help! blessings, marlene

I know what you are going through with grabbiness. I spend the evening with lil T and he is also cutting molars all at the same time.

  30. Those piggy tails are just soooooo cute! What fun having the little ones around!!!Those molars are no fun, I would be crabby too!!

The dress you made for gd is adorable! I don't know how you make things up so quickly, I'm still plugging away and haven't gotten my Christmas quilt or T's quilt done yet. With the house in such an uproar who can sew? :o( Love the book mini quilt! What a great gift for someone who loves to read.

Construction is practically at a halt. The crew is finishing up another project which I knew about right from the beginning, but I just want it DONE! It is nice having the house quiet though, so I guess I can't have it all.

We are finally out of the extreme heat pattern. It's much cooler today with a few scattered showers. Mom and I did furniture shopping for the new sun room. They are going to hold it there for me until we are ready for it.

Scoot is doing well. He wants to be the king of the pasture so they have their moments but that is all normal. Fun to have four again!

I have been a bad blogger not getting around to visit as much as I would like. I think summer is always like that. Hope all is well with you and all! xoxoxoxo
