An Exciting Week

It has been such an exciting week around here and very little of it involved sewing.

Our newest grandchild arrived Friday evening - a little boy who is dearly loved by all.  He evened out the boy/girl ratio in the family.

The week took us north and south in the car as we traveled down to watch our grandson's baseball team, UCSM, play UCSD.  It was a beautiful day.  After the game we took him to dinner and then made the long drive back home.

Over the weekend we headed north to watch our granddaughter make her First Communion at the Mission in San Luis Obispo.

Many hours in the car provided me time to catch up on the one heart a day project hosted by Happy to be Scrappy.

As well this past week, two of our granddaughters were in their school's musical, The Music Man.  One played Marian and one played the grandmother.  It was such a great show.

Of course the week can't be all good.  While we were away a compressor broke and did some serious water damage to the wood floors.   I'll have a better idea of just how much damage once someone takes a look at them.  ;-(

We had such a late freeze this year so the stone fruit trees have been late in blooming.  The have finally emerged from their winter sleep and are just gorgeous.

I wonder what this week will bring...........

  2. Congratulations on your new grandchild, what a beautiful family they are! It's great you are able to spend time with your grandchildren, watching games, performances and so on. And a bonus that you're able to take advantage of car time to get a little stitching done!

  9. Mary, I hope this week brings you happy and productive days.

It is wonderful you could attend so many wonderful and happy family activities this past week - especially the meeting of that new, sweet grand baby boy! They truly come straight from heaven.

The musical looks like so much fun. The picture of them looks professional.

Your heart a day project looks perfect for the car. I will be needing to prepare some handwork for a road trip the last week of the month, so your post was a great reminder.

I hope the water damage ends up to be miner, and those blossoms are beautiful!

  10. What a beautiful boy! It looks like all the family is full of joy with the new addition. It's bad enough when things like broken compressors happen when you're home but to come home to it is just too much. The blossoms are lovely....just one more of God's beautiful gifts to us.........have a wonderful week my friend.

I am so sorry your floors got flooded and I do hope your insurance takes good care of everything. Donut peaches are my husband’s favorites and they have such a short fruit season. 28. Congratulations..Grandchildren are truly one of God's greatest blessings. My youngest son also has six precious children. The oldest and youngest are boys with four girls in the middle.

I love seeing your beautiful flowers. Spring is just arriving in NW Wisconsin. The trees are beginning to leaf out. My flowers are beginning to poke up out of the ground.

    Our weeks are definitely exciting!

  30. Every now and then a monkey wrench needs to be thrown into our lives just to keep it real. Isn't it funny how "monkey wrench" is also a quilt block. LOL! Congratulations on the new grandson who evens the score. :o)
