B-I-N-G-O

Is everybody ready for a fun BINGO game?  May For Me is going to happen in May (of course) and a part of it will be a BINGO game.  First of all you need to make a bingo card.  This little project sounded right up my alley.

I have participated in several I Spy swaps through Sandra so I was ready to sort through some of them to find the right colors.  The mini quilt itself was very easy to construct and you can find a great tutorial on making one here.  It went up so quickly and was so much fun that I made a second one for the big Blog Hop Party giveaway  on St. Patrick's Day.  Be sure to check back on the 17th for a chance to win one.

The Master list on my card will read:

B                I                N                   G                        O

flags         bees           apples            ladybugs                ribbons
cats          spider         boots             puzzles                  mice
owls         birds           free                cows                    letters
stars         rulers          dogs             cars/trucks             butterflies
frogs        shoes           leaves           tractors                  flowers

Since I used swapped blocks in my BINGO cards I am going to submit my project to Thearica's Swap Party for March.   Be sure to sign up for it if you make a BINGO card using swapped blocks.

Of course it was not all fun sewing because I did a really nutty thing.  I sandwiched both of the quilts and had them on the cutting table on top of each other.  I then went to the machine to quilt it, quilted the entire thing thinking "Boy, this is thick".  Duh!!!!  Went to grab the next quilt and could not find it.  Yep....I quilted them both together.  There was a lot of un-sewing to do.  Ugh!!  Please tell me you have done something stupid like that too.

  1. OH No what a pain. Stitching both little quilts together. I have done heaps of silly things but not this one yet......

  2. Your Bingo quilts are so cute! Life is pretty hectic on this end, so guess I'll have to stay tuned for a chance to win your giveaway (wink).

I've made plenty of sewing mistakes. My most recent gaff was a few months ago. I was hurrying to finish machine quilting a Christmas gift and then realized the bobbin thread wasn't adjusted properly. I spent hours ripping, which was so frustrating since I was under time pressure to begin with. Seems like I always make more mistakes when I'm in a hurry or too tired to focus.

  3. Those are real cute BINGO cards. I finally finished mine. I thought it was finished and I had two teapots so I had to find another fabric to sew over the duplicate. And yes, I do things like you did. The seam ripper gets lots of use around my house.

  5. Sweet little quilts, I hate having to unpick stuff, such a bore after doing the sewing!

  6. Yes, I am really good at doing silly things like that, which just may explain why I have to keep buying new stitch rippers to replace blunt ones!

  7. An I-spy quilt is on my to-make list. And yes, I've had to rip out plenty of mistakes ... most recently I made about 30 9 patch blocks that had 5 white and 4 blue patches ... but I should have sewn them together so that I had 5 blue and 4 white patches. I didn't have a lot of extra fabric, so I had to rip them all apart and sew them back together.

  15. Your Bingo quilts are real cute. You are in good company for doing silly things. I once quilted a file folder to a wall hanging and was wondering why my sewing machine was making funny noises LOL.

  17. Sounds like something I might do - not in quilting, but in something in my life! I'm always misplacing something in weird ways!

I finally got a post done! I guess Louise isn't going to blog for awhile, at least. Maybe never. I'll miss her, but I understand - sometimes I think I have nothing worthwhile left to say!

  18. Beautiful bingo cards! Yes, I've done plenty of things like that! Recently I couldn't find the piece that holds the spool of thread down on my sewing machine, so I looked forever and asked my family to help. I thought the dog ate it. Turns out it was there all along. It had just gotten pushed down into the foam under the spool of thread. "sigh"
