AYOS, Etc.

I guess it is a wee bit late to talk about St. Patrick’s Day, but we always celebrate the day with the traditional corned beef dinner - corned beef, cabbage, soda bread, etc.

Cabbage was at such a great price (four heads for a dollar) that I had to start another batch of sauerkraut in the crock.  It should be ready in about 6 weeks!

My mom brought alone some green peeps for me when she came for dinner.  They went quickly, but aren’t they a pretty color?

This week I managed to finish this month’s AYOS project – a wonderful wee sampler.  I used  some PB and J fabrics that I had in my stash.  It was another great mini.  Thanks to Sinta and Sherri we have great projects month after month and I love my minis for decorating.

Along with working on my Two for Tea Blog Hop project (coming April 1st), I managed to finish up the Disappearing Hourglass quilt for my granddaughter’s upcoming 16th birthday.

DH and I took a drive to check out the blooming wildflowers last week.  There were so many beautiful ones – especially the poppies and lupine.

    What a busy person you are. I don't even know where to start commenting on all your activities. I like your St Patrick's table set with the lovely table topper. The mini quillts are delightful, the quilt is fantastic and the outing you and your husband had looks wonderful with all those beautifful blooms. Oh, and I love Peeps too, no matter what color.

    We had soda bread too though my table didn't look nearly as lovely! Those flowers are beautiful!

    What an adorable little mini! But then, all your quilts are just fabulous. I love minis ... they're just so cute, and they bring (almost) instant gratification. So I wonder ... why am I always making big bed quilts? I need to make more minis!

    Your quilts are beautiful. We have to do the corned beef and cabbage too. Only, I am the only one that eats the cabbage!. Your pictures of the wildflowers are beautiful. I hope we start seeing some soon.

    I am so jealous of your flowers! It looks fantastic. And my mom used to make sauerkraut all the time when I was a kid. There was a crock buried in the yard where there was always something fermenting. To this day I can't eat the canned stuff. It just doesn't taste right! (Your quilts are lovely too!)

    A lot of quilty goodness going on at your place, you have been super busy. I love all of your quilts. One of these years, maybe next, I hope to join in AYOS. I so enjoy seeing the parades of everyone's minis and like you, I would get a lot of use out of mine for decorating.

    oh how we love corned beef and cabbage! Yum! love your shamrock table topper too! may I ask if there is a pattern? homemade sauerkraut? I bet that is yummy too!

    PB & J is such a pretty line of fabric. Your granddaughter will always have a hug from her grandma. She'll love it, no doubt. I LOVE California Poppies. I've heard CA is so dry they aren't blooming as prolifically but you have a lovely display in your area.

    I miss the wildflower season of southern CA. We used to drive out every year. Carrizo is one of my favourite places. I always enjoy seeing your AYOS minis. They are always so delicate and pretty. The quilting on your granddaughter's quilt is amazing, it really made the quilt even more beautiful. I know she loves it!! I love your green table topper. Now you made me hungry for corned beef again :)

    Busy, busy lady! Such fun quilty goodness. I like your hourglass quilt, so colorful, perfect for a teenage girl. That clover tabletopper is so cute. Can't wait to see your tea for two...I am putting some finishing touches on mine today.

    What a gorgeous St.Patricks Day table! The shamrock topper is lovely as is your mini.....And the disappearing hourglass quilt looks like a sherbet sundae....good enough to eat! I love those poppies....we have an area in El Paso that has poppies that color on some Springs but not every year.....beautiful!
