Goodbye July
How can it be time to bid farewell to July already? Yikes, it will soon be Christmas at this rate.
July’s color for the RSC14 was red. I managed to get my red Soul Searching block in just under the wire this month. My guess put next month’s color at orange, but it is moving along quickly. I love the red!
Now there are seven….. I am not really pleased with my blue block (the first one) and I may remake that one in the end. I like it better when the intensity of color matches better.
Since I have been spending a lot of time with my mom in rehab since her surgery I have had some peaceful hand sewing in the works. See the gingham???? It’s a project for the upcoming See You in September blog hop. My date is September 11th – sadly, an easy one to remember.
Welcome August!

ReplyDeleteJune and July blew in and blew out so fast. I like your rainbow quilt and dont think you need to remake the blue one.
ReplyDeleteHobby Lobby is all ready for Christmas, complete with a plethora of little trees in all colors of the rainbow. They'd match your block perfectly. :o) Very nice red to add to your blocks. My niece hates her birthday, September 11.

ReplyDeleteI really like this having your background suits it perfectly...and I am sad we only have only one more month of summer, at least here...our days are already so much cooler, we haven't had the ac on except for one day

ReplyDeleteYikes, it's August 1st here now! I could believed when I turned the calendar this morning! Your RSC14 blocks are beautiful. I see what you meant about the blue block. Well you would get a cushion out of that block if you are replacing it. Hope your mom is recovering well - Hugs Nat
ReplyDeleteI love your scrappy color blocks. I see nothing wrong with the blue one. Blue is restful color and this block gives the eye some rest from the vibrant colors in the other blocks. JMHO

ReplyDeleteYes Christmas is creeping up quickly. Do you have another stocking to make??
You have such a good eye for color, Mary! I would never have noticed the blue block not being as intense. Sorry for your blog hop day - perhaps they should have a day of remembrance instead and move them all forward one day?
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Can't wait to see what your handwork reveals. You have peeked my curiosity.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how fast it's gone, isn't it? And in our neck of the woods, what tends to be the hottest month instead set record lows! I hardly feel like we've had any summer yet!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow what a striking block that red one is! August is here and soon it will be fall again....my favorite time of year in El Paso although I have really been enjoying this summer.........hmmmmm interesting project for your blog hop.....

I'm loving these blocks and the colors you've used! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I'm intrigued by your Sept 11th reveal, and will look forward to seeing it. Your blue block reminds me of when they laid the floors in our house, and I wanted them to even out the tones and colors, rather than just randomly laying them down. I guess it was the quilter in me! (And no, they didn't even out the colors, but I've gotten used to most of the boards.)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Oh! I can't wait to see that project for the blog hop!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought all the blocks matched really well in the photo...
