Of course the favorite is always the train under the tree. I try to have several of the little ones over alone to play with it. When everyone is here at the same time the space near the train is over populated!!! That and the fact that there are many derailments makes it not as much fun.
I got a little more work done on my stocking this week. My snowman is making some headway. I hope to get to it more seriously next week after our big dinner party for 24 people this coming Saturday night.
One of the grandsons called last night to ask if I could make three brown beards for the Christmas play at school. He needed them by Friday. ;)
You didn't expect me to model it....did you????? |
I haven't had much time to work on my Easy Street blocks this week, but I am trying to make myself take 15 minutes a day to just kick back and do a little sewing. Hopefully they will come along faster after the weekend as well.
Now I must get back to setting tables and cooking.
Even the Christmas cactus is blooming. |
Your house looks festive and ready for a wonderful month of "Ho Ho Ho" activities. How special that you had help from a granddaughter. I have to show my husband the train around the tree. I'm sure he'll love an excuse to go buy a train. (Men love their toys :) I think it would be great fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays, Mary.
Looks Christmasy at your home. Have a happy holiday season.
ReplyDeletelove the wall quilt
ReplyDeleteYour house looks fabulous, especially the wall quilt. I should be working on my Easy Street right now, but instead I'm looking at blogs, and then it's bedtime. Tomorrow night for sure after I get my hair cut!
ReplyDeleteYour decorating is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt on the wall!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks very festive. It is nice to get help putting up all of the decorations. Taking it all down is the part I don't like.
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is progressing nicely too. I did one of those for the first grandchild. Then the next 2 got cross stitch cuffs on theirs and the last 2 didn't get any cross stich.
Very nice decorating. The kids look like they love the train. I don't understand why you wouldn't model the beard though. ;-) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely and festive.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to limit the numbers for train "driving"!
The beards turned out well - clever you!
All the best for the dinner party this weekend!

It seams weird that your cactus flowers at Christmas as my flower in June/July. Our winter...
I'd have love to heard that conversation...Grandma I need 3 beards! Funny. The holidays are exciting and hectic but joyful and tasty. Enjoy your Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little behind this week so I just read your Sunday with the Supremes interview. It was wonderful, happy to get to know you a little better.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks beautiful, and love the beard. My cactus are blooming as well!
What a beautiful home. and the beards are too funny.
ReplyDeleteWell yes, I would like to see YOU model the beard please......LOL I love your decorations and the photo of the children playing with the train brought a smile to my face. 24 people for dinner....whew! I know how lovely it is for family to gather. Your snowman is coming along beautifully and love that violet fabric in your Easy Street blocks.....What a beautiful Christmas cactus!

ReplyDeleteSo festive. I'm glad you were able to squeeze in a few geese this week.
ReplyDeleteYour decorations look amazing! The train is an issue over here too. The issue is always how soon can he put it up? This year he had it out before the tree was totally decorated! Love the beard!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet...it feels like Christmas - and your geese are almost cooked! LOL

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing you lovely Christmas tree and festive decorations with us, they are beautiful. Nice idea of the train running underneath it.
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm living vicariously through other people's Christmas decorating since we have just finished all the unpacking from the move. I really wasn't in much of a mood to start with all the Christmas boxes only to have to pack them up next month. I am doing the Christmas baking and we are hosting a few dinners and get togethers so that will be nice. I just bought a few nice Christmas arangements to make the place festive.
Now I'm off to help a friend move, yes that's right. She's starting a new job in a new city and her kitties new transpporting :-).
Don't you just love seeing all your handmade decorations at Christmas time. I love that catus flower quilt you made last year. Lovely to see the kids admiring the tree - hugs Nat
ReplyDeleteI was stressing about how little I have been able to post and wondering if I should even be blogging; so I really appreciate the encouragement to not stress over it and the affirmation that you enjoy my posts no matter how often I put one up. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteYour house is so beautiful and neat. Love all of the decorations.
Your house is so inviting with the festive tree and that gorgeous quilt. How nice to have little munchkins around to enjoy the season and that train!
