The next one was a quilt top that her sister in law made. She is a new quilter - taught by my sister - and I think she had a great teacher. The quilt seams matched perfectly and quilted up beautifully.
The Bloom SAL continues and this is the newest block. I think I need to start doing them at the rate of once a week instead of once every two weeks. You can see others HERE.
The weather has been so chilly and we've have so many frosty nights this year. So many plants are showing signs of frostbite. Fortunately, it has not affected the citrus. The trees are all packed with fruits and it would be such a shame to loose it. We have three more cold nights forecast for this week.

We have grandchildren and a grand dog staying with us for a few days. We've had so little sunshine lately, but the dog has managed to find the little sunshine that there is.
Amazing how well he matches the color of the carpet. |
Love your bloom blocks. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary they are beauful quilts what clever ladies. Oh wow your flower blocks are beautiful well done my friend and I hope your citrus ripens for you hope you have a wonderful day my friend xx
ReplyDeleteOh, those two quilts are pretty. How lovely for you and your sister to share time together happily stitching away. It is always a joy to see your gorgeous flower blocks. I love the happiness of these blocks. How fun to have your grandchildren and grand dog with you for a few days. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun to have a sister who loves what you do and yes, she is a good teacher. We just planted 14 fruit trees.....love yours.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those quilts are lovely and I like your bloom blocks. I have a lime tree that I bring in the house in the winter and harvested 3 limes, even though there is a couple of feet of snow on the ground.
ReplyDeleteTrust a dog to find the warmest spot to lie!
ReplyDeleteYour Bloom blocks look very nice with their sashing. Lots of pretty fabrics.
Quilting and visiting fabric stores with your sister sounds wonderful.
Beautiful blocks. Seeing the trees is so uplifting as another day of snow hits here. Your sister's quilts are gorgeous, love following her on Instagram. I love the dog and how well he coordinates.
ReplyDeleteThose quilts are so pretty :) As are your bloom blocks!
ReplyDeleteGreat dog quilt for the couch your sis made and she did well teaching her SIL to make quilts .
ReplyDeletePretty Bloom blocks...
Dogs are very clever finding nice warm spots to sit.
Oh, I hope the citrus makes it! It surely has been cold!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have time to quilt with your sister. My sister knits but hopefully she will live near me soon and we can enjoy our hobbies together :-)
How nice to have some sister quilting time, lovely quilted show and tell-- thanks for that! Your grand-dog is beautiful and that stitch along is inspiring. Here's hoping that you soon dry out and warm up a bit in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteA dog quilt - how wonderful. Your granddog is beautiful and looks like it is enjoying the sunbeam.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilts and blocks, and of course the puppy.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to spend time with your sister. Her quilt is beautiful! Love your sweet bloom blocks!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that is a "dog" quilt. It is gorgeous. I like the other quilt too. I hope your citrus stays healthy and doesn't get too cold. Those cold storms have been coming across the country and giving us cold and rain (snow in some places too). Keep warm and pray for sun.
ReplyDeleteI love your "lollipop" block, so cute! Your sister must be extremely fond of her dog, that is one gorgeous quilt! I hope your weather warms very soon so that beautiful citrus crop isn't ruined. I can imagine how luscious that fruit is just picked from the tree on a sunny morning.
ReplyDeleteYour sister's quilt is just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any fruit in our orchard for 3 years due to spring freezes but that's more common here. Hope you don't lose all that fruit!
Your sister really did bring a couple of treasures for the long arm. I hope you two have had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThe bloom blocks are adorable. I 'sort of' regret not joining in on this sew along but I've got a lot of catching up to do on other projects. I'll just have to be satisfied in watching from the sidelines.
So fun to have Joani stay with you, and true to form, you two get a lot done! Two quilts, visiting, fabric shopping--what a delightful visit. I'm jealous of your citrus, and hope they aren't damaged by the cold weather. Our kumquats are doing well; want to trade?
ReplyDeleteThat is really a gorgeous quilt she made for her dog. So sweet!! Great colours. Her sister in law did a great job with hers, that does not at all look like a beginner quilt. Your blooms are so pretty! Loving the fabric.

Your sisters quilts are just gorgeous. And I love how your bloom blocks look together. We can spur each other along making 1 block a week. Xox
ReplyDeleteSister time is so special and her “Dog” quilt is really pretty. And her student’s quilt is amazing. Sweet Granddog you have dear. We have another 4” of fresh snow. It is fun and melts as fast as it is gently snowing. So beautiful on the Red Rocks and Red Mountains.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to share quilting with your sister. I have no sisters but do have a wonderful SIL that quilts. We just don't get to see each other often enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this post! How nice that you were able to spend some time with your sister. The quilts she finished are beautiful. I love your flower blocks! That will be one happy quilt. I've been thinking of you with all of the cold temperatures in LA and southern CA. Hopefully your fruits and plants will survive.
ReplyDeleteyes, a gorgeous dog quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like tangerine. so sweet.

How fun that your sister came for a visit and quilted while she was there. I truly love getting together with my sisters.
