Gosh….how many years ago did I do a Jelly Roll Race quilt? Can it really be that I started it in 2012??? I can now say it is officially finished.
The back is a cross hatch fabric in orange and white to pick up the orange in the four patches and border.
The border is done in a lime green polka dot. Another quilt top finished – all washed and crinkled.
It’s a three day weekend for us which makes us all smile. Have a safe one!
Wow! This is just gorgeous! Love the 4-patch blocks in between strips. Great finish.

ReplyDeleteYou won't get much more done this weekend with that bundle of cuteness around! What a sweetie! Is the new quilt for her?
ReplyDeleteThose little four patches really take that jelly roll race quilt up 2-3 notches! I LOVE it ... and that little cutie, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat "Race" to the finish! That quilt definitely deserved to be finished and enjoyed. Love the four-patches sprinkled throughout :*) Enjoy your 3-day weekend ... we are enjoying ours here too. So far I think we'll have lovely weather for it.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute smile!! I don't think I've seen a jelly roll race that pretty before. The 4-patches are a great touch.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt! You are sure getting lots of projects finished up!! You will run out pretty soon and have to start some new ones. :o) Where did you find the jack o lantern kit? Was it in Keepsake Quilting, the two you made are just adorable, I think I might give it a try if I can find the kit. I am coming along on my lodge quilt, of course I added a few days work to it by satin stitching around all the trees and moose but I think it looks more finished that way. Had a great day at the lake Sat. and today after church till about six o'clock, just gorgeous down there. Don't know if we are going tomorrow again or stay here and work on the house we are getting ready to take down. If it's 90* like they are predicting we will probably head for the lake! :o) The baby is just gorgeous! What a sweetie!!!
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on the quilt but forget that! What an adorable smiling baby - she is the cutest!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteLove it. That Jelly Roll race has a way of turning into something more after you play with it and get it quilted.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty jelly roll quilt. I made one a while ago out of Christmas fabrics for my husband. I didn't add a pretty border like you though.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty quilt, the little four patch blocks add so much. I hope you had a great weekend it has been for us but three days has been so nice.
ReplyDeleteOh the look on that darling face! What a cutie. I love the border fabric especially and the binding. That is a simply sophisticated quilt. Love it!

ReplyDeleteWell, it turned out just perfect Mary. It was worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the prettiest Jelly Roll Race quilts I've ever seen. Makes me want to make one! Sweet face on that baby would make anyone smile.
ReplyDeleteA jelly roll race, for sure, but with a fun twist of those 4-patches everywhere. They look like little flowers perking up a field. Terrific! Love that cute little baby--so chubby and sweet. You are one lucky grandma.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt and it is always sew very rewarding to finish a project. Such a cutie face!
ReplyDeleteLove the splashes of orange.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed your pincushion parade. We are doing an exchange in my local guild and this gave me lots of ideas.
Oh my goodness - that quilt is to DIE for!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAdore your jelly roll quilt and may have to crib from your example. I have one in the works that I started last spring, cutting all of the strips into random smaller lengths and thereby doubling the work needed to join them all. But now, want to do more than just sew the strips together over and over again. Have been playing with a block format, but it's not coming together yet. Something like your little 4-patches might be just what it needs to break up the monotony. Otherwise, it will become just a car or picnic quilt.
