I'm a little late to the party, but Ida has once again been the generous host of the PPPP (Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade). I have posted my pincushions in past parades, but my patriotic batch has been completed since then.
I have a clothesline basket that sits on the coffee table and I change out my pincushions for the different seasons. The grandchildren prefer to use them as beanbags so they do get a lot of use here. Since we have passed through Memorial Day and Flag Day already, the red, white and blue will remain through the July 4th holiday.
One new one was added especially for the parade. It is a Pinwheel pincushion from the FQS and the tutorial can be found on You Tube.
These are my patriotic pincushions.
Pincushions are such fun and quick little things to make. Be sure to pop over to Ida's blog and see all of the really gorgeous ones that have been shown this week.
Oh they're so cute! (I need some pin cushions so bad but I keep pushing them to the back burner.)
ReplyDeleteLovely collection...and so patriotic too...xox
ReplyDeleteAwe, Mary, those patriotic pincushions are so pretty. And what a good idea to make different pincushions for different seasons or holidays. Thanks for popping in and sharing your pincushions with us.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to make a pincushion. I love yours. That pinwheel one is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of Patriotic Pincushions..
ReplyDeleteThe pinwheel design is so effective in red white an blue. In fact all your cushions look splendind, its such a strong colour combo. Great idea to change with the seasons - think I might try that. xx
ReplyDeleteYour patriotic pincushions are adorable. I have yet to make a pincushion! Hopefully this won't get me kicked out of the club. I don't use them, so I don't think to make them, but displaying them like you do would be fun. Maybe it's time to create one or two??
ReplyDeleteThese are all so cute and festive for the summer!
ReplyDeleteLove your patriotic pin cushions and I love how you decorate with your handiwork! I made 3 of those pinwheel pincushions and each time I failed to contrast the pinwheel to my liking but they are so quick that maybe I'll try again! Thanks for linking up with us again.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet Mary. It looks better than a bowl of candy, plus way more healthier.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet collection. Seems like a fun alternative to bed-size quilts all the time! I have patterns and even a bag of crushed walnut shells, but have never made any.
ReplyDeleteFun to see your patriotic collection! I like the log cabin one - it's one of my favourite patterns. Thank you for having us over for a visit!
