My blogging journey started thanks to a friend in Maine who talked me into blogging so we could share our quilting with each other. Along the way I have met some wonderful and inspiring fellow bloggers. I know many have gone to other forms of social media, but our online friendships have continued. As well, I have had the great pleasure of meeting several of them in person.
Benita asked us to share our favorite quilts. Is that not like choosing your favorite child?? Of course my real favorites would be the ones made for grandchildren that are

A yearly project from Quiltville is the highly anticipated Mystery Quilt. I have completed four of those. They involve a lot of piecing, but I have so enjoyed joining the quilting community in making them.

Through the years I have enjoyed various quilting bees and blog hops. As well as meeting new friends, some fun quilts and projects have come from the sharing.

My sewing passion did not start with quilting. I have always loved clothing construction as well as cross stitch, knitting, tatting and most any kind of needlework.
Of course, your "favorite" quilt could be one that you are currently working to complete too. lol
Now that you have visited here, be sure to pop over to Benita's site to meet other quilters through the month of September. Be sure to enter for the grand prize which will be won on October 1st.
It's great to revisit some of your beautiful creations. Blogging has been a great way to meet kindred spirits!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a lovely parade of your quilts! I love that giraffe one and the elephant one for your latest grand babies. I'm so impressed you have also completed 4 (count 'em!) of Bonnie's mysteries. That is impressive! I enjoy reading your blog and am glad for the connection.

What a wonderful quilt show!!
ReplyDeleteI loved this post, showing all your fun quilts, your projects, and it was also fun to see some of our bee quilts in the mix. I forget that you have *30* grandchildren sometimes, but am sure that all of them know that they are your favorite, as all of us who know you feel that we are your favorites, too.

ReplyDeleteIt was really nice to read and re-read this post and drool over all of those beautiful quilts which are works of art. I could never select a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love the pineapple flag you made for me. Still can't thank you enough for such a thoughtful gift.
I have been a long time admirer of your projects and quilts. You do such wonderful work! Love the sewing word themed quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful array! I'm a Quiltville mystery maker, too. (What will Bonnie have for us this year?) Love the sewing supplies quilt (Tonya's lettering, I think?).
ReplyDeleteFor real? 30 grandchildren? Wow - but how amazing that each of them have received a quilt from you!! so special!

Thanks for being part of the Quilters Meet & Greet! <3
I can see why you'd have a hard time choosing a favorite quilt--they're all so lovely! And you certainly have some lucky grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI smiled when you talked about favorites when it comes to quilts and children; that was so honest. I've also made the Elephant Parade as a new grand's quilt. 30!! My goodness gracious...and I thought 10 was a lot. lol
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are fantastic - and I am crazy for the snowman stocking. I see you have been making Bonnie Hunter's yearly quilts - I have collected the patterns, some of the material and of course all of the paint chips but I have yet to start. They all look so complicated and I have only been quilting for 10 years or so.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful selection of quilts. All of my grand children have received a quilt when they were born. I only have 15 of them though. I am now giving them graduation quilts as they reach that age. Wedding quilts next? Thanks for a nice visit!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you on the Quilter's Meet and Greet, I've followed you for quite a while. Beautiful quilts!!
ReplyDeleteI love your "Sew Fresh" quilts... one for my bucket list as well as a Bonnie Hunter quilt. Yours are all so gorgeous. Wow, 30 grandchildren, that's awesome!

ReplyDeleteYour quilts are beautiful! The baby quilts are adorable! I should make something like them for when I have great grandchildren. I enjoyed your Blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts!
ReplyDeleteYour projects and focus are always beautiful eye candy. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilting. Is the Tea for Two your pattern? I love it.
ReplyDeleteI adore all your creations. I love that you and your family always have room for others at your gatherings. I adore all your creations that you chose to highlight. You have many, many more. Do you shuttle tat or needle tat. I know how to needle tat some but sure wish I could shuttle tat. Needle tatting is limiting. I have the giraffe pattern to make and yours is inspiring me to get started. Thanks for participating in the hop.
ReplyDeleteSusan
I love the variety of quilts that you make. They are all beautiful. 30 grandchildren must keep you busy.
ReplyDeleteOh we do go way back, don't we. I remember those fun hops with Madame Samm. Such fun projects. I love seeing all your Bonnie Hunter quilts too.
ReplyDelete30 grandchildren! You must be going broke from making them quilts! You have made some beauties though. I especially like the giraffes, paper dolls and your quilt of valor.
ReplyDeleteThirty grands....wow!!! It's quite a feat in itself to have made quilts for them all, much less all the others you've shared here. Amazing! Thank you for inviting us to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful selection of quilts. Your New York Beauty is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteNew York Beauty, love that design and the way you chose your fabrics. Then the smaller items, varied, and small can nearly always guarantee more fiddly sewing and tiny pieces. They are all so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of quilts. What a cheerful post.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you Mary. You have some lovely quilts. And how fortunate to have so many grands to wrap in love!
ReplyDeleteSo many quilts and each one is fabulous and special in its own way. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteI love the red/white/blue quilts the best, but you definitely have an eclectic style, and that's a good thing! Nice for the different personalities of the grandchildren!
