It's been another delightfully busy week from this end. We managed to take a couple of days to visit my brother and SIL who live a few hours north from us. They are in the Central Coast wine country so we always end up doing a bit of wine tasting while we are there. It was a delightful day and we were thrilled to sit out and soak up the warm sun.
Greeters at one of the wineries. So cute! |
Check out this make believe bird feeder at one of the wineries. I really think I could make this a real feeder with a few adjustments.
We also visited a car/air museum. They actually had a plane that my husband flew when we were in the Navy. He had to land this thing on an aircraft carrier!!! It was a delight to see it restored and looking just like it did when he flew it. The nickname for it is "the Stoof" (in real aircraft language it is a S-2).

We enjoyed three grandsons and one dog for the weekend. In spite of the rainy Sunday, we got a little kite flying in too. Rainy day session included many wicked games of Hearts while snacking on popcorn.
The garden has also been beckoning. The rain has brought lots of weeds that need to be pulled, but the flowers are really popping right now.
First bloom starting on my cactus that I started from a paddle a few years ago. |
Lastly...the winner of the BINGO card was Carmen. She has received it and I am excited to see how she does with the BINGO game.
BTW...What do you think of the new Blogger interface? I tried it, but switched back again. It kept telling me that I could not leave comments and I really did not like how you follow blogs. I'm sure they will probably make us all switch over soon. SIGH!
I am so happy to find another Peeps lover! I love to eat them which puts some people into a state of shock! More for me. Your pics are lovely! And what an adorable dress! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI dunno - don't think I've ever tried Peeps. Now, if they were dipped in white chocolate, that would be a different story!
ReplyDeleteThe Easter dress is so sweet!
Your flowers are just beautiful. And that dress is so cute!
ReplyDeleteP.S. My husband ADORES Peeps! Me, not so much. I would rather have malted milk Easter egg candy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm kind of having a love/hate relationship with blogger lately.
What on earth are Peeps? I am intrigues!
ReplyDeleteI use the new Blogger but to be honest, you still have to revert to the old one to do certain things, like change the way people can comment. It seems to be a work in progress. Long progress. But I do like the cleaner dashboard and the open look. And there are more options when writing posts.
Have a great weekend - that little dress is so gorgeous!
Love your flowers!!! As for Blogger, it has been a few changes now since I started running into problems getting multiple photos to appear where I want them. If they are going to make changes, why don't they ask for input from some of us about things that we think are troublesome and then change THAT stuff....and leave the other stuff alone. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI love peeps! I've always wanted to make and Easter themed quilt that had peeps on it :)
ReplyDeletelovely pictures....great hibiscus. I haven't tried the new blogger; I think they will change us over eventually....
ReplyDeleteGosh, I haven't bought peeps in years...now I have a bit of a craving for those sugared marshmallow treats!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the little dress! So GIRLY
There is a really cute Peeps pattern out there. Have you seen it? It seems that you are having fun and getting to sew. Lucky you. The dress is precious. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI had the same issue with the interface. I prefer it the way it is too.
You've been busy, your post was so much fun to read. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see the pics of flowers from your garden. The cactus flower is special.
ReplyDeleteWe do not have PEEPS in Aussie but they look fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the Critters at the winery and the bird feeder.
Pretty Easter dress and Mug Rugs.
Busy time for you and I enjoyed your post.
My you have had a busy week! I'm surprised to hear you had any time left to eat peeps!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Peeps. Poor, deprived me! What are they made of? I guess they're chocolate?
ReplyDeleteI love your cupcake mugrug, and the flowers are wonderful.
Hi Mary, Thanks I received your message only once.
ReplyDeleteBlogger is changing its format and I'm guessing while that's going on we will experience the hickup.
I have all the coloured peeps alreay bought. I thought of putting them out on display, but they are so gooooood to eat.lol
I love that little girls dress.
I haven't done any dress making for years. Take care and thanks for the lovely compliment on mr dh
woodworking.
DH and I bought some peeps last night for some young ones coming over on Easter Sunday. Personally I am over them...;-) What a fun way to spend time with your sibs! Sweet dress too can see it with the pinafore!Yard here is needing some work too but DH can only do so much in a weekend and the inside work has to be done for our Easter guests!!
ReplyDeleteThat bird feeder is too funny.
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers! I'm planning on planting hollyhocks.
I like the bird feeder! Even if it is make believe!
ReplyDeleteThe little Easter dress is precious and reminds me of my aunt who used to make all our Easter dresses.....and that is really a cute mug rug. Both of them, but I love the Easter one.
I tried the new blog thingy too, but immediately switched back. It's hard enough for me without intentionally making changes!
Looks like you've been having fun! That would be a neat bird feeder. I don't know what it is about wine bottles that appeals to me so much, since I rarely drink. But the look of them just sucks me in.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm one of the ones who don't love peeps. Now Cadbury Eggs...oh yes. What a beautiful Easter dress! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteOh my Gosh, I just love the dress and your other sewing projects, you are inspiring me!! A beautiful post. Hugs, Kerrie♥
ReplyDeleteI have one son that loves Peeps so I bought him his this week. I will be watching to see if you get your bird feeder made....and then I will copy you! ha! The mug rugs are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love Peeps, although I would have loved the wine at the wineries you visited even more :) Beautiful sewing you've been doing. Oh, and I don't like the new Blogger interface either. I think it's just going to change us to it automatically some time in April so I'm trying to get used to it.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful.... the Peeps are sweet. I see you've been very busy!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you've posted some gorgeous pictures. The dress and mug rugs are darling, and your flowers are beautiful. I never eat the Peeps, but just love to buy them 'cause they're cute!!! Looks like you all had a great time in your visit - how neat to see that plane.
ReplyDeleteIf you like peeps and you like chocolate then you need to try chocolate dipped peeps. Check this out:
ReplyDeletehttp://worththewhisk.com/2010/03/30/chocolate-dipped-peeps/
I've also seen them dipped in white chocolate, very Easter like.
I love your flowers pictures, so beautiful. This past week we were back to almost winter weather and several nights of strong frosts. The tulip trees that started to bloom because of the early warm weather didn't survive and most turned brown. This week we should see more spring like weather. Have a great week.
I've been using the new Blogger interface for several months now and have no problems at all with it.
ReplyDeleteI love those flower pictures ... simply gorgeous!
The Peeps so cute.what are they?..I loved the Easter dress.. You design your own??
ReplyDeleteGotta admit I am a peeps hater...they are cute to look at but not to eat....love that bird feeder!
ReplyDeleteI love Peeps too! Looks like you had a wonderful weekend and fun projects. Flowers look beautiful..........oh boy, I need to get out and pull weeds too! I like the new Blogger interface but as Hilachas said there are certain things you have to go back to the old to do, I hope they fix that before the new is permanent.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Food Network clip about Peeps? I had no idea there were so many different kinds. I love the airplane picture :-) I'll bet you both really enjoyed seeing it! Lovely flowers and Easter projects.
ReplyDeleteOh that little dress is darling!!! I have a cute top cut out for my grandaughter but haven't got to work on it much. Love your pics of your flowers too!!! And I agree about that birdfeeder. So cute.
ReplyDeleteThe garden is looking good and I am intrigued to know what 'peeps' are. The look tasty and sweet!!
