Teal and a Winner

After four name draws of “no reply” bloggers, congratulations go to Ida, the winner of my Uncommonly Corduroy Book Tour Blog Hop.  Ida does such beautiful work and I know that she is going to be thrilled with all of the fun projects in this great book.

The new color for March in the RSC14 is teal.  I LOVE the color and was really excited about sewing this month’s block.

Now there are three………

In contemplating my goals for my March sewing, I am trying to be realistic.  We will be busy entertaining out of town company so I have decided to add at least four more blocks to my N.Y. Beauty project.  I first had to fix the first four blocks because I did not have my printer set to scale when I made them.  Now they are the same size as my others.

This is really such a fun block. I'm learning to re-love teal. My current home was ALL teal when we purchased it -- fireplace tiles, curtains, light fixtures, carpet...you name it. After ridding the house of it and 16 years since...I can appreciate the beauty of the color once again.

Well those no reply folks missed out, didn't they? Congratulations to Ida.

Yay, Ida. Maybe she'll let me look at her book if I'm not able to win my own from the others giving the book away :) Love your blocks. The colors are so pretty.

I am visiting for the first time and am impressed with your beautiful quilting.

We have some commonalities - I too live in southern California. In April, we will celebrate 43 years of marriage so it sounds like we are near the same age. But, unlike you, we have no grandchildren yet. How do you manage any time to quilt with 27 grandchildren?
