In Like a Lion……

Isn’t it March where the old saying of In like a lion…out like a lamb applies?  Well…..if the last day of February is any indication of what tomorrow will be like, we should have gorgeous weather to start April.

Our rains have finally arrived in So. California.  We had an inch and a half overnight and 3/4 of an inch the night before.  It is suppose to get quite wild later on with 60 mph winds and power outages so will try to finish this post off now.  We just got our power back after being without for over an hour.

With it being the last day of February, I need to get my finish in for ALYOF.  This month I completed a Schnibble that I made way back – during the Year of Schnibbles.  I can’t even remember the year or the name of the pattern, but I LOVED this fabric.  It might be one of my all time favorite lines – Boutique by Chez Moi .

It was my mom’s birthday this week so all of my siblings and some of their spouses took her to lunch.  We had a great time and  a fun visit with my sister who is visiting from Alaska.

This was the birthday card that I made her.  The fabric reflects her career as a teacher.

How wonderful to all be together for your Mom's birthday. And I'm so glad the much needed rain has finally come to California. The storm is on it's way here to Arizona and we expect quite a down pour by tomorrow.

Lovely family photo and so nice you were able to get together. Happy you had some rain, but hope it doesn't go to the other extreme of TOO MUCH. Stay safe.

What a great day you had for your Mom's birthday. Love all the photos. I'm in Murrieta, and we're really getting pounded this morning.

Happy Birthday to you Mom. That is such a pretty handmade care. The best kind! Your Schnibble is very sweet too. As CA gets the rain the rest of us get the cold and sub zero temps. Hurry Spring!

I'm glad you are finally getting some rain but I hope it doesn't get out of control, too much at once.

The family photo is just wonderful. I too hope that things don't get bad with all the rain where you are. The pictures I'm seeing on the news are pretty scary.

Happy birthday to your mom! Sure hope you don't have too much trouble with your weather, but if it's any consolation (and I know it's not), we're facing some lousy weather here ... ice, freezing rain, sleet and snow - all in significant accumulations. I sure do love that Schnibble! What pretty colors ... how big did it finish?

I just spoke to my SIL who lives in S.Cal and she was so excited because it's raining. Heck I never get excited - it rains here all the time!

Happy Birthday to your mom! What a happy day! Your Schnibble is Tagalong! I made one in red, white and blue, but I like yours better. Great for Spring :-) Stay safe in those winds! Our power went out for a bit last week and it seemed like everything I needed to do that day involved electricity.

Your sister lives in Alaska? That is really neat. My sister lives in Maine, and I thought that was cold!

Your Schnibble did turn out quite beautiful. I like patterns that are both traditional but contemporary like this one.
