August Goals

I'm a tad late in getting my August goals set.  It's not that I don't have a million items that I could list for the month, but the time is going to be short for sewing.  I need to keep my goals realistic if I want to have a finish.  So.....I have decided to finish up my Easy Street from last winter's QAL.  I loved the project and I really can't wait to finish it up.   I am linking up to A Lovely Year Of Finishes.

With August already in full swing I am noticing the trend towards fall.  I am seeing a definite change in the daylight hours and we have had a hint of fall in the air.  Some of the trees are actually changing their colors already.  How quickly the summer has slipped past!

I saw a quick and easy table runner in one of the quilting magazines and thought it would make a nice gift for a friend whom I am going to visit.  I may have to make one for myself too.

My Kindle died a quick death this past week - in the middle of a good book.  You can actually trade your dead ones in for a discount on a new one.  Who knew????  The problem is that the new one is much smaller than my old one so it did not fit into my handy case.  To protect the new one, I made a padded case to store it in when I am through reading.  It works great.

We had a fun weekend attending a Diana Ross concert at the Hollywood Bowl with some friends.  The concert was wonderful and she still has an amazing voice.

Yesterday I was able to attend our granddaughter's dressage lesson.   I think if she ran away from home she would go live at the stable.  She just loves the horses.

I heart the "oldies." I wonder if Diana Ross knew that a sewing Supreme attended her concert? Love, love your Easy Street.

Go Hannah! She looks like a woman. What is happening?!

I love the Hollywood Bowl, such a great venue. I had no idea Diana Ross still performs. That's awesome.

Cheers!

It sounds like you're enjoying your summer. We've been having unusually cool weather, and we continue to have rain! It's so wonderful to have green grass in August. Enjoy your family time, and you can always quilt later.

What a lovely post. I adore your Easy Street quilt. My daughter lives in L.A. and she occasionally goes to the Hollywood Bowl. That is something I've always wanted to do!! I didn't know that about trading in Kindles. Great information.

Who knew that Diana Ross is still touring?

My oldest granddaughter loves all things horses - I think she'd love to be able to take dressage lessons.

I love your Easy Street - and your Kindle cover.

I have always loved your Easy Street and happy it is going into your "Finish" pile! Glad you got to see Diana........the entertainers of "our" era are slowing aging and sadly, we have lost some of them already............

It's lovely to have a goal and you always meet your monthly goals Mary. That is a cute little table runner. My friend loves table runner I might have to make one for her next BD. I love horses too, but I don't think they like me. I got knock off it a couple of times! Have a lovely weekend when it's finally come for you - It's Friday here now - Hugs Nat

The quilt top is just gorgeous!!!! I don't know where you find the time to do so many wonderful things! Also the table runner and the case for your Kindle! I picked up my August BOM yesterday so hopefully will get started today. It's raining all day so a good day to stay in and sew along with packing for our trip. Just found out we're supposed to dress in Island style, well that's not going to happen, I don't have time to go out and look for stuff. Hummmmm.....wonder if there is an old WRB costume like that??????
