Birthdays and Goals

Not having my computer has really been a rather nice break.  I do have it in a temporary fix mode for now, but I am sure it is on its last legs.  I just hope to keep it running until they come up with a fix for the Win*dows 8.  I've heard such nightmares about the one out there now.

I got to test a cute little finger puppet from Little Black Duck.  These are the cutest little critters and the grandchildren just love them.  The mouse is the newest addition.  They go up quickly, are beautifully packaged and have plenty of needed supplies in the kits.  These would be perfect for a beginner hand sewer.

We've been celebrating birthdays here this week.  I love it when the girls ask me to make something for them for their birthdays.

The blouse looks distorted with the hanger inside...sorry.

For this one it was all about princesses.

Everyone enjoyed the cake.

I have played a bit with some different fabrics for Christa's QAL, String of Pearls.  Although the colors did not come out well in the picture, they really look pretty together.

Goal setting time...... I think this month I am going to try to finish my Halloween Schnibbles from a couple of years ago.  I wanted to do this a couple of months ago and didn't get to it.   Let's hope I can accomplish it this month.

It's time to finish preparing for houseguests and a big celebration of the 4th of July tomorrow.   Happy birthday, U.S.A.!!!

  2. You might want to try to find a computer with 7 on it instead of 8. I think it will be fall before the 8.1 comes out. I love 7. It is like XP on steroids and works so well.

  3. Mary I know how you feel when your love ones ask you to make things. I am always creating for my daughter. I am so glad because I would be a hoarder if. Kept everything I make. The outfit you made your grandaughter is beautiful. I also like your blocks. Enjoy your holiday.

  4. I had to laugh when I thought about anyone asking me to make a gift.....often my gift has to be something I can do (like keep the little ones for the parents to get out if we happen to be there). That little mouse is so cute and what a great idea.

I'm sure you will accomplish your goals! Happy 4th!

  12. That little mouse is so cute.

What a blessing it is when those we love ask us to make them something for their birthdays.

I hate taking pictures of my fabrics and projects when the colors don't reproduce well. I've always blamed the photographer, but maybe it's not just the photographer. ha!

    Have a wonderful Independence Day!

  27. I think I missed this post when it came out! Wonderful to see all the pics and the gifts for family. Your String of Pearls quilt is looking wonderful...is it hard to match the sashings? I thought I might make that quilt too but a little afraid of the precise piecing needed...and yours looks very precise!

  28. I was in a panic recently about windows 8 but then I diagnosed my computer problem partly myself and a friend found a pin bent in the power connection and fixed it with a paper clip. PC World wanted to charge £50 for a diagnosis plus fixing!!
