The Story of the Two Princesses

This is a tale of two princesses - one flat and one chubby.

First of all, we have a new little princess in our family.  We welcomed a new granddaughter yesterday afternoon.  All 8 pounds and five ounces of her will now join her mom, dad and big brother to make a perfect little family.  She is gorgeous and good as gold (so far)!!!!

The second princess story is about the Flat Girl that came to visit Southern California from Tasmania.  It was such a delight to entertain her for two weeks.  I hope that she enjoyed her stay as much as we enjoyed  having her.

She received lots of attention, oohs and awws wherever she showed up so I have decided that she should be called a Flat Princess rather than a Flat Doll.  She was so beautifully made by Nerine and if you have not checked out her blog you need to do so.  Her work is just stunning.

While the princess was here she was spotted all about.

She attended the wedding of my nephew and enjoyed a little champagne.

She went to the farm store with some of the grandchildren,

attended my 45th high school reunion and

joined me on the Southern California Quilt Run.  She was even lucky enough to get her picture taken with the Quilt Run Raffle Quilt.  The shop owner, Eileen, loved her!

Do you think she was looking for a house to live in??

She loved hiding in the fabrics.  I think she wanted to stay there.

As well, I saw her popping her head out at the weaver and spinner's 40th anniversary party.

She did join me in a little yard work when I planted an iris garden.  I will have to send her a picture when they bloom next year.

Can you spot her hiding in the iris????

The princess enjoyed taking in the smell of orange blossoms and picking her fruit for her breakfast each morning.

She absolutely loved Toy Story 3 while wearng her 3D glasses.  I think she shed a tear or two as well.

The time flew by and she joyfully packed her bags and headed off to Canada to join Peas Corner.  It will be so much fun to follow her adventures as she travels about the world.   She bid her farewells and left without her friend who accompanied her on the first leg of her journey.  I will constantly have a companion to always remind me of the fun I had with the Flat Princess.

First of all, congratulations on your new baby grand-daughter! She and her Mom are both beautiful. Ahhh, there is nothing as sweet as a newborn babe!

Love the Flat Princess! I have not had experience with her visits, although Flat Stanley visited our home a few years ago.

Love all your pictures!

The Flat Princess seems to be leading quite an exciting life! I wonder if she has been to England yet. It will be fun catching up with her again at Pea's place!

PS I think I want to live in that fabric shop too. And the raffle quilt was stunning!

Congratulations!! Babies are so much joy! And What wonderful photo's of your beautiful family:)

And wow! Flat Princess has gone so far and done so much! I agree Flat Princess is a way more suitable name for her, me thinks her blog title is due for a change? I love that she's gone fabric shopping with you, I'm rather partial to that myself and that she's helped pick oranges for her brekky. I reckon Canada will be enormous fun also I'm sure she'll be fine even without her companion.
I sent you an email but our computer misbehaves sometimes. Would you like me to send again?
xoxo

Congratulations on the new little Grandie, she is gorgeous.
Flat Girl is having such a good time with you. I'd love her to come to visit me, I'd take her out and about, show her the sights and introduce her to some fabulous people. Why don't you ask her if she wants to come here?

The new baby is SO sweet....and her mom is a very pretty gal, too! You did a wonderful job as a hostess for Flat Princess. I'll have to follow her on her travels. I'd love to entertain her, too, but I doubt I'll get the chance....but...who knows?

Congratulations on that beautiful baby girl!!! What fun you two are having holding her, I love the look on E's face, the proud Grampa! What a blessing to have another beautiful healthy grandchild to love!!!

What a hoot with your Flat Princess! She certainly had an exciting and busy two weeks while with you. Wish I could have been at that quilt shop with you two, that quilt is so pretty with the houses. I know she will have a great time at Pea's place and see lots of sights!!

It's still blistering hot here, I am about to melt! I got up really early this morning to get the horses out in the cooler air before the heat socks us in again. After that they just stand in the barn under the fans and snooze.

Yes we had a wonderful 4th at the lake. Only had one issue and that was that the carpenters neglected to put a lock on one of the bathroom doors........guess who got walked in on........of course me! :o( Poor Cousin K will never be the same again!!

Give that darling baby a hug for me!
