A Quick Note

My computer has been sick so I will post this without any pictures. I guess I could come up with a catchy title like "Pictureless Thursday" or something of the sort.

Things are going well here. My mom continues to improve and is now allowed to sit up for twenty five minutes today. It is actually long enough to eat a meal on her own. YEAH! Food does go down much better than when one is lying flat.

Last Saturday was our grandson's high school graduation. I will post a picture of it when I can load the pictures back onto the computer. He heads off to college at Ave Maria University in Florida in August.

I will be off of the computer for about two weeks as we are leaving Saturday morning to drive back to Iowa to visit with relatives. Our #3 son, his wife and their ten children will accompany us this time. All are excited. Our journey will include the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It should be a great trip and I will post pictures when I return.

Meanwhile, I hope all will enjoy themselves while I am away and I will have a lot of catch up to do when I return.

  3. So happy to hear the good news about your Mom. It must be awful to have to spend so much time flat on ones back.

Have a safe and great trip to Iowa. Will you have a caravan, a bus or what? That is a lot of people traveling together!!

  8. I thought I commented last night - must have dreamed it! Oh, my, to have my brain fully functional again would be so nice!

I wanted to thank you for pointing out the goof in my post the other day - I think I was going to say, "He is not going to be much longer in this world," when I changed thoughts, but forgot to change NOT. Bad error as it turns out, eh?

Kristen now has pleurisy - it just never ends. I know you'll keep praying for her!

  11. So glad your Mom is improving all the time and to be able to sit up for 25 minutes must have felt like heaven to her! Bless her heart, she has had a rough time of it. Good thing she has you and your sisters to hang in there with her.

What a wonderful trip with your family! I'm drooling, I LOVE the Grand Canyon and haven't been there for quite a few years. I guess it was one of the last conventions that we had in Scottsdale. We rented a car and drove up on our own, J was with us so it must be at least 15 years! How times flies!

Take lots of pictures so that I can drool some more!! lol!

    Love,
    L
